Full Spanish (es) translations of the admin portal are included in Powercode build 26.10.05 and later.
The System Default Language setting chooses the language the admin portal is shown in. It applies to every user at once: there is no per-user language for admin portal users, and Powercode does not use the language set in each person's browser.
The same setting is also the starting language for new customer contacts and the fallback language for automatic emails. See What it changes.
Config > System, in the Company Information section.
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| System (System → Configuration) at Edit | To open Config > System and save it. |
Everyone sees the admin portal in the new language from the next page they open.
Save saves every setting on the System page, not just the language. Check you have not changed anything else by accident before saving.
The list shows language codes, not language names.
| Code | Language |
|---|---|
| en | English. The default, and always available. |
| es | Spanish. |
| fr | French. |
A language is only listed when its admin portal translation is installed and the language is registered on your server. If es is not in the list, contact Powercode support.
| Area | Effect |
|---|---|
| Admin portal | All admin portal text that has a translation is shown in this language, for every user. |
| New customer contacts | New contacts get this language as their Language preference. Existing contacts keep the language they already have. |
| Automatic emails | Powercode sends the version of the email written in the contact's language. If there isn't one, it uses the version in the system default language, and then the English version. |
| Invoices and statements opened in the admin portal | The PDF in the system default language is shown. |
| Symptom | Likely cause |
|---|---|
| es is not offered in System Default Language | Spanish is not registered as a language on your server. Contact Powercode support. |
| Some labels are still in English after switching to Spanish | That text is not translated yet, or is built into the page. See Limitations. |
| A tooltip shows a short phrase instead of an explanation | That help text has no translation in the chosen language yet. |
| A user wants a different language from everyone else | Not supported. The setting is system-wide. |
| Config > System is missing or shows Access Denied | You do not have System (System → Configuration) at Edit. |
