Requires Powercode build 26.10.05 or later.
Send to BMU tells Powercode to send a device, and the customer it belongs to, to the device's BMU again. It is the same action as the Send to BMU button on a device's page in the admin portal, now available to installers in the field.
Use it when the BMU does not seem to have a device's current settings and you want Powercode to send them again, without editing and re-saving the device.
Send to BMU is not shown for Tarana devices.
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Equipment (Customer → Equipment), at View | To send customer devices to the BMU. |
| Equipment (Network → Equipment), at View | Also lets you send customer devices, and is the only permission that lets you send equipment on your own company's account (infrastructure equipment). |
Without the right permission, Send to BMU is not shown.
Powercode then sends the device and its customer to the BMU in the background, through the BMU queue, the same way it does when a device is saved.
Tapping Send to BMU again while the first tap is still being sent does nothing, so a double tap does not queue the work twice.
| Message | What it means |
|---|---|
| Submitted — Equipment added to BMU queue. | The device and its customer are in the BMU queue. |
| Error — You do not have permission to send equipment to the BMU. | You are missing the permission for this device. See Permissions. |
| Error — Sending the equipment to the BMU failed. | Something else went wrong, for example the device was deleted after you opened it. Reload the page and try again. |
The messages close on their own after a moment.
| Symptom | Likely cause |
