Requires Powercode build 26.10.05 or later.
Installers can take a payment from a customer, or save a new credit card or bank account for them, without leaving the installer portal. Both go through your normal payment gateway, the same as a payment or payment method entered in the admin portal.
Open a customer in the installer portal. On the Profile tab, the Payments card has two buttons:
| Permission | Why it is needed |
|---|---|
| Customer Overview (Customer → Information) | To open the customer at all. |
| Payments (Customer → Billing), at Edit | To see and use Make Payment. |
| Credit Card (Customer → Payment Methods), at Edit | To add credit cards. Any one of the three Payment Methods permissions shows Add Payment Method. |
| ECheck or ACH (Customer → Payment Methods), at Edit | To add bank accounts. |
The Payments card only appears if you have at least one of the Edit permissions above, and each button only appears with its own permission.
What you can add also follows your billing setup:
The payment is recorded like any other payment: it appears in the customer's billing history and event log. If you have set up the Customer - Financial Transaction Successful or Customer - Financial Transaction Failed system emails, they are sent as usual.
If you charge a credit card processing fee (see Credit Card Processing Fees), the Confirmation step shows it for credit card payments:
Below the fee, Total: shows the amount plus the fee. If both a flat fee and a percentage fee are set up, only the flat fee is charged. They are never added together.
When a bank account is selected, no fee is shown and the total is the same as the amount.
The fee is charged together with the payment, and it is added to the customer's account as a separate charge only if the payment succeeds. There is no way to waive the fee from the installer portal.
Enable Autopay is set to Yes by default for credit cards. Choosing Yes makes the new payment method the customer's autopay method and turns autopay off on their other saved payment methods. Set it to No if the customer only wants to save the card.

If your credit card gateway is Stripe V2, the Credit Card tab shows Stripe's own form instead: Payment Info (a card or a US bank account) and Billing Address Info. Fill it in and tap Submit. Stripe checks the details, then sends you back to the customer with the payment method saved. If Stripe rejects the details, its message appears under the form.
